I did not have enough broth to fill one of my jars by maybe a couple of inches. Do you suppose adding a little hot water to the broth to fill the jar up to the one inch head space is okay? Thank you.

Gorgeous. The platter is from Homer Laughlin (pronounced Homer Locklin). Made here in Pennsylvania, great company. It's old. Nice pick. My Grandma worked in a plant that made the boxes for packing the dishware & they printed the labels for the dishware as well. I have some dishes from Homer Laughlin as well.
